We are excited to announce that we will be offering a youth basketball season this winter for ages 7-12! However, it will look different than any season we have offered in the past. Due to Covid-19 there will be restrictions and guidelines in place. This is a rapidly changing situation, but some of the guidelines we are considering are listed below in more detail.

The season will consist of six games beginning January 9 and practices will begin after Thanksgiving. By starting the season later it gives us more time to prepare and to also monitor how the middle school season is progressing. As part of our guidelines we will be following GHSA rule modifications and any protocols Pike County Middle School will have in place. We have been and will continue to be in communication with PCMS as we prepare for the upcoming season.

Registration will begin October 22 and end November 10. The registration fee is $60.00 with a $10.00 sibling discount and $25.00 out of county fee for out of county participants. If paying by check the registration fee is $57.75 (no cash payments please). If paying by check please mail the fee to PCPRA P.O. Box 697 Zebulon, GA 30295. In an effort to minimize contact, if you need assistance please call the recreation office at 770-567-2027 and we will be glad to assist you over the phone. There will be no sizing of uniforms at the recreation office. Please refer to the sizing chart on the Documents page to pick the appropriate sizes for your child. If you have any questions or need assistance please contact us at 770-567-2027.

Guideline Considerations to Decrease Potential Exposure to Covid-19

No Evaluations.

Possibly, asking parents to wait in car during practices.

Limited number of spectators during games (PCMS guideline, but we should fall under the maximum number allowed at one time).

Extra time scheduled between games & practices to allow for cleaning & sanitizing and to allow one group to leave before the next group arrives.

Place team benches opposite spectator seating. Players will be social distanced while on the team bench. Spectators will be social distanced.

Frequent sanitizing of basketballs and scorer's table.

No post-game handshakes.

These are only a few of the guidelines we are considering. Once the list is finalized they will be published and sent to each parent. The guidelines and plans for the season are subject to change.
